ASCE Student Chapter

2011 ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition
Sesquicentennial Oval

On the first day of the competition, the Product Display portion of the NCCC will be held on the Sesquicentennial Oval. The “Front Oval,” as it is referred to by students, is the ceremonial entrance to campus, opening off of Lincoln Avenue. The oval was named in 2004 in commemoration of UE’s 150th anniversary. The space is a large, grassy area with beautiful landscaping and trees throughout positioned in front of UE’s administrative building, Olmstead Hall.

The Front Oval will provide a scenic, comfortable environment for each team to showcase their canoe. At the end of the day, all of the teams will be positioned, with their canoes, in front of Olmstead Hall for the group photo and be captured in the iconic image of the University of Evansville.
